"The Best Has Come"
Hello Readers,
Did you vote yesterday? I did, it was my FIRST time voting. I feel proud of myself!
"The Best Has Come:" I am would like to send a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to my Pastor, Reverend Tracey L. Brown. I am excited to see what new and positive things you will bring to Plainfield. I am pleased to now call you Councilwoman-At-Large Rev. Tracey L. Brown.
The Leadership Project: We are closing out another year! We will be helping out again at Jefferson School's Annual, Family Fun Day. It will be my 7th year, serving as a Member of this Leadership Team. It's really a blessing and privilege to be able to watch the students at Jefferson grow over the years. I love that I can be walking in the store, or anywhere, the kids get so excited to see you!
Graduation: Graduation is June 21st, I am excited and ready to leave High School. These past four years have been a wild ride.
My Perspective: Again, I am proud of Pastor Brown, I know she will do positive things for Plainfield. I will be back very soon to check in and give you another update.

Mural Painting Part 2
Let me start off by saying Happy New Year to Everyone. I am hoping that 2012 is a great year for everyone.
On Monday, January 16th, 2012 at 10AM, New Jersey Cares and Jefferson Elementary School hosted the MLK Day of Service Mural Painting Part 2. A total of Fifty Volunteers (including myself) and twenty students assisted in coming together to paint the pictures. Everyone did a Fantastic job on each picture, and I am sure all of the kids loved them when they returned to school.
LEADERSHIP UPDATE: On Monday, January 23rd, 2012, JSLP will be Feeding the Needy at the Plainfield Area YMCA (518 Watchung Avenue). We are very excited to help feed the less fortunate.
MY PERSPECTIVE: I thought everyone did a fantastic job painting. A special thank you to New Jersey Cares, Mr. Scot R. Burkholder, the Jefferson School Staff, and the Volunteers for coming out to celebrate Dr. MLK's National Day of Service.

An Update on My Life
Hi Readers. December is moving so fast!!!!!! I am VERY excited for Winter Break.
How are you? I am checking in to see how everyone is doing. A lot has happened to me since the summer. I was a Summer Camp Counselor at the Plainfield Area YMCA, I had the pleasure of working with about 30 First and Second Grade Campers. It was an experience I will NEVER forget and I can't wait to do it again next summer.
SCHOOL CHANGE: I recently transferred schools from Union Catholic HS, I am now at Plainfield High School. I was upset about the change, but now I am starting to warm up to the school; trying to make the best out of the change.
WORK AND SCHOOL: I am still working at the Plainfield Y, I am the Babysitter. I like the job because, I get to work with kids still and I like kids. This is also giving me more experience with working with younger children since I want to become an Elementary School Teacher.
THE LEADERSHIP PROJECT: I am still President of The Leadership Project at Jefferson School. We have had MORE students join. Our Membership Population Range comes from Plainfield High School, Hubbard MS, and PAAAS.
EXPANDING OUR BRAND: We recently took on a Cook K-7 Center Chapter, under the Direction of Mr. James R. Malkmus, Physical Education Teacher. This chapter is in conjunction with the Jefferson School Chapter. The Jefferson Chapter has been on the scene since 2003!
MY PERSPECTIVE: It's been a bumpy Three months so far with juggling School, Work, The Leadership Project and College Stuff. Please come out and support the Jefferson School Community on December 14th, 2011 at 6:30pm, we will be having our Winter Concert and The Leadership Project will be having a Bake Sale. Please stop by and donate to our program, all of the proceeds will be going to our program. I will be posting again soon to remind you about the Bake Sale. I hope you all have a Fantastic Week!
